It's time for a fresh approach at council that is based on long term strategic planning, that looks ahead and has our whole valley in mind while celebrating the diverse mix of people we have here.
Having moved to the valley over five years ago, my wife and I instantly felt at home. That’s why I’ve decided run for council—putting my hand up to be a councillor comes from me wanting to do my part. I see lots of great opportunities in our region and with 15 years in hospitality, including Matilda's & Nambucca Markets, I’m ready to bring some fun and excitement to our community.
I’m progressive and pragmatic, I support development and growth yet believe it can be sustainable. I’m a strong believer in transparency in government and active equal opportunities, supporting small & local business.
Here are a few things I’m passionate about:
Sprucing Up Our Valley: I want to take a fresh look what we already have, at our signs, bathrooms, community halls, parks, and the main streets of our towns. Let’s make sure they’re inviting, practical and enjoyable.
The River That Connects Us: I will support efforts to reduce pollution and manage sewage in our waterways. I want to focus on activating the river through improving access and tourism experiences, major events, and supporting the Nambucca oyster industry.
Let’s Have Some Fun: I'm a strong advocate for food, arts, and culture, and believe a community is built on the events and spaces that bring us together. Let’s support and grow our events, food trucks, venues, markets, galleries, musicians, and artists.
Homes, Homes, Homes: I'll support creative planning changes to assist in the development of additional houses, ensuring the fabric of our towns aren't impacted. The development of the Valla Urban Growth area (located behind the BP service centre) is a key project, that will also have a posititive impact for small businesses.
Space for Everyone: I will advocate for council-managed spaces and land to serve all community members, including young adults, dog owners, the Aboriginal community, Gumbaynggirr people, youth, LGBT+ individuals, and young families.
